Heuser Chiropractic has many of the most state-of-the art therapies in Colorado Springs. Listed here are our therapies and what the therapy can do for you!
Trigger Point Therapy and Vibracussor: Trigger points are hypersensitive areas within muscles, tendons, or ligaments. Treatment may be necessary after adjustments to help return the muscles to a normal resting state.
Active Rehabilitation: This is the process of actually strengthening the ligaments, muscles and tendons. Rehab will give the body the best chance of correctly functioning, helping prevent the affected areas from failing when placed under stress. The rehab will help the body heal faster and stay healthier longer.
Spinal Decompression: Spinal decompression is a unique, non-surgical therapy developed for the treatment of chronic low back pain, neck pain, herniated discs and degenerative disc diseases. By significantly reducing intradiscal pressure, spinal disc decompression promotes retraction of the herniation into the disc and facilitates influx of oxygen and other substances.
Intersegmental Traction: This is a passive motion therapy that works in an upward and downward motion along the spine. This therapy acts to unlock fixations of the vertebra to allow more flexibility of the spine. It also helps to rehabilitate the ligaments along the spine to hold the alignment of the vertebra.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation: EMS is a low voltage electrical current that works to cause muscle contraction, which can fatigue the muscle and or reduce localized pain and inflammation. This therapy can act to reduce and relieve muscle spasm, as well as rehabilitate injured musculature.
Ultrasound: A therapeutic treatment using high frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries. The sound vibrations penetrate the tissues deep in the body creating a heat response. The rise in the temperature increases blood flow, relaxes muscle spasms, massages damaged tissues and speeds the healing process.
Cold Laser Therapy: Low-level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of the non-thermal photons of light. Light waves penetrate deeply into the skin; they optimize the immune responses of our blood. This has both anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects. It helps to rebuild and repair the muscles.
Qui-Gong: Reduces pain, releases adhesions, reduces trigger points, stimulates immune function, and rehabilitates to minimize recurrence of the pain or injury.
Cervical Traction: This helps to relieve the pressure of the nerves in the neck. It has a roller that works in an upward motion to do this. This also strengthens the ligaments along the cervical spine to help hold the vertebra in place.
